my office… my lovely home away from home.
Peonies are my most favorite flower. I picked these up at Central Market. Love this John Derian tray given to me by my dear friend Ann Hynecek at Hello Studio.

Love my desk from Ikea. It has a built in light table which is great for drawing. Still need a new desk chair. Put it on the list!!

This mirror was a gift from my one of my idols, artist and friend, Pamela Nelson. It is a piece to a carousel. I love that I see it daily…it makes me happy.

I once saw a chopping block in Canton and left it! NOTE TO SELF: learn what’s a rare find and DON’T PASS IT UP. but I found this one at White Elephant and it’s perfect for this space. These chairs are a redo that I will feature later.

Entry: bench - DIY by myself! lamps from DWR and tables from ZGallerie…believe it or not. I adore, adore, adore this little hand door knocker I found at White Elephant. It serves no purpose but it’s very cool.

Whittlin’ by my pops! My dad has always been very creative and loves to carve. These are a few pieces I keep with me at the office. One is about patience, one about being an artist and the other about graduating. Such a cool dad.

My self declared signature, the chalkboard. This one is just a piece of MDF that I painted and then wrote the Roy Rogers rules to live by, given to me many years ago by Mr. Rovillo.

So the two white ikea frames behind my desk hold precious words, not art. They are framed Days from the Life’s Little Instruction Calender Volume 4, they are now on 14 (doesn’t that make me feel old) that my best friend Sarah used to leave for me when we were in college. I kept them for 10 years before I finally framed them. Words to live by: Stand up to bullies and Never forget that the size of your brain is more important than the thickness of your wallet. So true.

We added this space about a year ago and moved our conference room. We love these chairs paired with the table. Both of our offices have always felt like a California tree house. Very relaxing. The guitar is a master work of art by my boss, partner and wonderful friend, Chris Rovillo. He was commissioned to “decorate” a guitar for the Wildflower festival. He bought it back at auction and it’s a great piece in our electic studio.

Peonies are MY favorite, too. In Canada, they grow in these huge bushes. I love that dish on your desk. I saw that at this cool store in Seattle where I want to take you on our trip!
Where’d ya get those cool cards?
Hello! Just rediscovered your blog in my bookmarks and it is adorable. I’m very curious about the bookshelves behind your desk, where did you find those? They would be perfect for my in-progress office!
I believe those are just inexpensive shelving from Target… they are just on their sides… nothing fancy ;)
love those flowers and the tray…simple and beautiful
