Dallas Opera House, huh?

sw08085m_cap_v4

magnificent moment. I saw this collection work by Argentine artist, Guillermo Kuitca and about fell out of my chair. They are jaw droppingly beautiful. This particular series is called Dallas Opera House and they are inspired by the interior seating of the Winspear Opera House. I’ve been looking at the interiors of these buildings for several years now and this is an amazing interpretation of a seating chart. Kuitca has also been commissioned to design the curtain at the Margaret McDermott Performance Hall of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House. See more of his work and other studies of opera houses here.

I have the extreme privilege of being a part of and working on the new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. If you don’t know about this project (shame on you) and you must go read all about it here and here. If you frequent any part of downtown Dallas you have seen, and I’m sure are inspired by these magnificent new buildings going up. I’m certain if you’ve seen them then you are as excited for the grand opening this October when all eyes are on Dallas for this huge moment and celebration.
