skeleton couture, eyeglasses and crystal balls

oh my! I always love objects that make me question my sanity a tad. urban flower grange hall is one of my absolute most favorite and inspirational stores. Home to Jeffrey Lee, a recent contestant on bravo’s project runway and his partner Rajan Patel, it is always filled with bizarre and curious findings.

On my latest trip to urban flower grange hall I found eyeglasses (drinking glasses with eyes printed on the base), skeleton couture and crystal balls (or rather a breathtaking crystal ball chandelier). From skulls and jewelry to out of this world floral simplicities it’s a perfect place to pick up an unusual gift for someone who “gets it”.

dog

I love this dog and the sculpture of book pages behind it. I have no idea where I would put it or where anyone else would put it either but it’s totally cool. I’m also very into baby doll heads and there’s a fabulous artist featured in Grange Hall, David Simcik. I adore his peculiar pairings of elements and then the glass domes that protect the precious composition.

chairs

Oooooooh….these there are so many lovely things here. This vignette is the centerpiece of the store. I’m smitten with this horse head over the mantel. I’ve seen a few at Roundtop and I’m really thinking about investing in one at some point but for now I’ll have to continue to admire this one. They are typically very old, very heavy and usually off of old buildings. These gorgeous marble chairs were commissioned in the 1950’s as garden sculpture. They are show stoppers. And in case you were wondering…yes, they are HEAVY.

You have to visit their lovely website. It’s really well done (and that is something I’m quite picky about!)

I equate this place to dark chocolate… dark and bitter, but so good and sweet.
