that’s what friends are for… My nearest and dearest often tease me that I get so hooked on particular foods or restaurants and wear them out. I can’t help it, I live in a city with the most restaurants per capita (or so I hear) and miles of delicious food. There’s something different to try constantly. I can always find a place I haven’t been and am rarely truly disappointed. My current obsession is LUMI. I went there for the first time in February right after it opened and I’m embarrassed to tell you how many times I’ve been since.

my mother once told me some things are better left unsaid. It’s so true, although, to be honest, I’m not great at it. I fell in love with Laura Davis’s work at the Etsy show in May. Laura is a furniture designer with a great sense of humor. She has such pretty way of saying the most blunt things that we’ve all wanted to say from time to time.

even in the heat of summer, scarves are in… I visited Again Design Studio the other day and I had to write up these new pillows that they are carrying. These glamorous cushions are made of vintage scarves and are all so wonderfully graphic. Each one is rare and a one of a kind. These pillows are lush and have the ability to completely transform a chair or a an entire room. Very cool.

it’s interesting… I feel like each week when I write up a home, I talk about how creative the homeowners are as individuals and that their combination makes an extraordinary home. This week is no exception. This mid-century modern gem belongs to Shay Ometz and Jeff Barfoot. She is an art director for Fossil and he is the owner and creative director of Barfoot Worldwide.
