working on a full house… This is the extraordinary home of Jacqui Stoneman and Harry Myers. I ran into Jacqui on one of my weekly visits to White Elephant and found out she is the dealer of some of my favorite booths in WE. After I finished ranting about her great taste she said “well, you should see my home” and that was it, it was all over. Of course, I went on and on about the blog and shortly after we set a date to visit and photograph it. I was so excited I could hardly sleep the night before the shoot. I KNEW it was going to be ridiculously awesome and filled to the brim with greatness.
This painting above shows Jacqui’s keen sense of humor. She doesn’t take any of it too seriously and she’s a master at transforming an imperfection into art. She bought this piece at a sale (garage or estate, I can’t remember) and there was a hole in the chest…so, she places oh, so, perfectly a dart there. AND VOILA! I thought it was part of the artist’s original vision. LOVE THAT.

I could not begin to tell you about all of the amazing things in this home because to be honest everything I saw was so incredible I could analyze and photograph each thing so it’s tough and I have to edit. This is an image heavy post and the pictures do most of the talking but I do want to point out their ability to mix modern and antiques. That is key to me, the eclectic mix is crucial to the overall success of anyone’s home. The first thing I saw when I walked in the door were moose antlers with a heavy chain draped over the center. We know I love chains and antlers so clearly I was already in love.

Ok, are you noticing that this is a BIRD with a MAN’S head on it? Just didn’t want you to miss that clever tidbit.
The image below with the sans serif modern letters spelling out SOUL, placed so sublimely in the distressed Louis style chair, encompasses all I think of with Jacqui and Harry. They have tremendous much passion and deep affection for their love of great finds. Their enthusiasm comes through in every thing they purchase, every story they tell about their experiences and the way that have it all pull together in their home.

I have to explain this one on the right, it’s concrete (I think) but it’s two huge bearded men, looks like maybe it should be on a boat or something - I truly have no idea - and it sits beautifully on top of this ivory piano. It’s completely over the top. It’s completely insane and it’s stunning. I just don’t know that I have as much guts as these two do. They just put it out there, crazy or not.

Harry and Jacqui have been antique hunting for almost 20 years and have more fun doing this together than you can imagine with it. As she told me “Harry is a great partner, he has fun shopping and finding ’stuff’ but he can also fix things” (shouldn’t we all be so lucky)!! Harry installed this ceiling, which reminded me of my kitchen ceiling but covered a lot more area. This was a huge project but worth every effort. The house is much more cozy with the rustic wood ceiling.

And finally the master bedroom, It was a little slice of heaven. Very calming and serene but filled with lovely linens and collectibles. Must note: Harry and Jacqui made the mirror out of driftwood, which I would love to own.

Thank you Jacqui and Harry! You can shop their collection at White Elephant Antiques or in Round Top at Marburger Farms.

It always occurs to me that some people can pull things off by being brave and cool about it. I mean, if I saw moose antlers wrapped in a chain in a store, I would probably think it’s way too weird and people would freak out seeing it hanging in the middle of my living room. But then somebody else does that and it seems to everyone like it’s the most natural thing in the world… I just wish I could be that person!
I do love the whole feel and look of it, but i think some of the antlers and scupltures would scare me in the middle of the night if i got up to get a drink of water! my mannequin scares me sometimes! over active imagination…..
This is a perfect harmony of art, design and comfort. I would be at home here… very inspiring.
This is an amazing house. Sam, y’all should be neighbors! Great find.
Hi, I found your site the last time I was in White Elephant a few weeks ago. I think the picture I have on my blog header is of Jacque’s space in WE, but I couldn’t remember her name. Their house is just fabulous. Hope you’ll stop by and visit me. Have a great day.
truly distinctive and creative! I love this and I am really enjoying your blog!
A treasure to discover in every corner. Intricately beautiful!!
I would love to explore this very creative space as a store, but as a personal home, not so much.
Over the top when you can pull it off is so…PERFECT
These 2 can, and did, pull it off. I wish I could vacation there for a week.
Sensational home! Wonderfully unique! A rare product of talent and daring!
Jacqui and Harry - what a dynamic duo. Your relationship unites talent, courage and unique taste. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful, charming home. I might even go home, throw caution to the wind and “re-position” a rug or something! You are truly gifted and an inspiration.
Jacqui and Harry - what a fun and talented pair! Their Rountop booth should not be missed!
They are under the metal shed to the right of Coles, and also in Marburger….. Wonderful, eclectic merchandise….. See you in October! if not at a Park Cities Estate sale before.
They really have an eye for the unique…and they have so much fun in the hunt!
If only I had a smidgeon of the courage and imagination Jacqui and Harry display in their wonderful home. What a matchless and unique collection of pieces. I love it!
