t.g.i.f. I thought it would be fun to wrap up this hectic week with this great little breath of fresh air. I’m sure we all agree that little flower shops are fantastic and I’ve shopped this particular one for years. It’s full of gorgeous flowers of course…the really good kind we all have a weakness for, you know, peonies, orchids, succulents - I’m a total sucker for any of that. I also totally dig their variety of vases and shells. They are all above average and extremely affordable. It’s definitely one of my happy places. You may recognize the small bud vases above, I use mine as a pen holder on my mirrored desk at home.

oh how do I love thee, let me count the ways… Anthro visual rocks my world. I look forward to every opportunity I get to witness the genius of the window dressings and brilliant vm throughout the store. It never ceases to amaze me how they take the most simple everyday objects and turn them into works of art. I honestly think of all the windows I see they are some of my most favorite. This, for example, is two ladders, a bunch of mason jars and what I’m assuming is colored water. It’s so lovely, so summery and fun and I never would have thought of it.

channeling my inner king… I wouldn’t call myself a big espresso drinker but I do love the idea, the smells and the social aspect of coffee consumption. I love sitting with my parents on their back porch sipping a hot beverage, what is typically mostly cream and a touch of coffee. Coffee houses are so collective. It’s like a town reunion whether you live in big city like Dallas or teensy little town like Wakeeney, Kansas; and while I definitely frequent the mega-chain Starbucks I’m happy to report that there are many indie coffee shops that are thriving, laid back and easy.

and maybe in this instance, a smidge eerie… I am inspired by this photography series by the imaginative Maxine Helfman a while back and just can’t get it out of my mind. It’s sweet. It’s creative. It’s a little unsettling. But most of all it’s beautifully and flawlessly executed.
For your enjoyment…

i would just die… to have this wall paper and more importantly, the guts to put it up. I wonder what my house would be like?? ( I digress…) It’s Jonathan Adler, a household fav of most design oriented people and it runs about 20 feet tall making a definite statement in the two story entry way in Tracy Martin Taylor’s home. It’s stunning.
I met Tracy recently while she was designing my BFF Sarah’s new home and right away we clicked. I asked if I could photograph her home, she asked if she could sponsor the blog…all great things. In the meantime, I found a post on her fab wallpaper on the Nest’s blog, you can read it here. This gal is NOT afraid of color and I admire that. Clearly, I can’t take the leap myself so I live vicariously through amazing people like Tracy.
Enjoy…
