rock in a hard place

I’ve never felt this way before… well, about rocks anyway and more importantly felt/felting. Lately I’ve come across several textile artists that I’m just enamored with. The thing that kicked off this latest obsession is pictured above. I ran into Casa Nova while we were in Santa Fe (sister store to Nathalie Home - more contemporary furnishings) and there they were — three huge river rocks stacked on top of each other. The cool thing about these stone-like furniture pieces is that the also function as great sculpture. You can actually buy them on line here. These extra large rocks are the work of oh-so talented South African textile designer, Ronel Jordaan. Once I got home I did a little more research on these uber cool rocks and found Ronel’s website. I found all kinds of cool stuff, all very sculptural..the rocks were just the tip of the of the felt iceberg.

Maybe it’s because my parents have a farm and the goats/sheep have always been my favorite animals on the farm but  I think these sheep lights are the bees knees. I don’t fully understand how they function but I love the look of them. AND…last but not least… get ready to drool…
