night night

myroom

oh how I love sleep… I’m in NY and wanted to share pics of my hotel. NIGHT. It’s sort of goth-like which sounds bizarre, and kind of is really, but if you don’t mind lack of color (and we all know I don’t) then it’s very cool. I love all of the texture in the interior and the clever uses of materials to break up the monotony. There’s nothing boring about the salt and pepper/good and evil/ebony and ivory color palette. When I was reading reviews online someone said “It’s a nice hotel but it’s dark” uh, hello…the name of the hotel is NIGHT? It’s a boutique so it’s small…kind of reminds me of my hotel in Belgium, except well, instead of all white…all black!

Check out pics and more details about the hotel…

Have been in love with these lamps since I saw them at Again Design Studio…made me happy to see them here!

sofa

And of course I love this sofa - my obsession with all things fur continues. I think the change in material but the sleek structure of the sofa really warms up the space with a little chic Texas charm (not sure  if that’s what they were going for but I like to think of it that way).

hall

I’m in love with this custom carpet throughout the hotel. Wallpapers, carpets, I’m a sucker for things with a good pattern these days.

I’ll be honest with you…it’s a bit like sleeping in a nightclub but a really cool one. There’s minimal light in the room, which I like and a light under my bed, which is hysterical to me.

doorbel

This is fun… a doorbell to my room. And if you don’t want to be bothered you just flip a switch from in your room that mutes the doorbell and lights up a “DO NOT DISTURB” — soooo much better than your average doorhanger.

detail

There’s a great little bar and breakfast in the morning. It’s located in Midtown Manhattan so a couple of easy blocks from Madison and Fifth and a few blocks to Times Square — great local in the middle of it all but very good place to get rest and quiet from it all. It’s always night in here… the windows are even tinted dark so you never really know what it looks like outside. Interesting concept and apparently it works because I slept fabulously.

More on NYC soon! happy weekend!!

Okay, this looks very cool. My favorite part would be the blackletter script pattern on the carpet and pillows.

Love the carpet pattern too. The light under the bed totally makes me giggle. Love that it’s dark and yummy for sleeeeping. Ahhh. Was it quiet?

It was quiet and I was thrilled! And I’m sorry I don’t know who made the sofa. You might try to give the concrierge a call. They are very nice. :)

I love this hotel!!!! It reminds me a lot of a hotel i stayed at the last time I was in NYC, Dream. It has the light-under-the-bed thing too, but most everything is blue. It even has a huge Buddha in the parlor (with a crucifix mounted on the wall in front of it).
