pretty byrd… this post is LOOOONG overdue. I love Fort Worth, we know this. And I am smitten with this little gem! Byrd + Bleecker is really the store that inspired my article in the November issue of FD Luxe (you can visit the link on B+B’s blog here or here in case you missed the article or don’t live in the area). This chic little boutique has pretty much every thing I love down to a sweet puppy and part-time mascot, Dice and Grover the cat to greet you upon arrival. Byrd + Bleecker is chalked full of fabulous tidbits of home furnishings, yummy candles, a great stockpile of “couture” books and a huge range of gorgeous stationery.
Style savvy owner, Libby Pettit Johnson, was a busy bee last year. She launched a new online store, redesigned her identity with the talented Jessica Hische and revamped a darling B+B website - (all three are amazingly well done and we know I’m picky about that sort of thing) - but to top it all off she also became a “Mrs.” this New Years Eve. So a BIG congratulations to Libby and her new Husband, Weldon!! Very happy for them!
Enjoy!

Adorable storefront. There’s even a little half door for furry store pets.

Everyone meet Dice. Dice, meet everyone.

Back to the amazing assemblage of “couture” books. I would give my left arm to have each one of them grace my bookshelf….Libby’s pulled everything from Kelly Wearstler’s latest gorgeous book, HUE, to the Sartorialist’s new book. The collection ranges from coloring books (Charlie Harper) to fashion, photography and interior love. All fabulous. This particular book was covered in cheese cloth. Very cool. They are like art in themselves.

Lux stationery from greeting cards to custom invitations. All REALLY good paper. This is one of those stores you know you can always pop in and pick up a great gift and usually end up leaving with a little something for yourself too. Everybody needs to treat themselves to a little somethin’ sometimes!

I shot this photo in the fall but I thought this laser cut calendar was super cool. The illustrations and the details… I need to use that process on a project soon….

I love that squirrel bookend! What a great shop, I went in November and it may be time for me to head on back to Fort Worth!
This store is adorable!! I have been searching for the Kelly Wearstler book!!!! Thanks Sam!
I love the “Jump Puddles and Curse Frizzy Hair” print SO much! Those are all hysterical!
After your article in FD Luxe, I drove out there on the Saturday of Thanksgiving. You are so right. It is a fabulous store and the owners couldn’t be nicer. We left with a stack of books and some letter press stuff as well. Loved the store Herringbone too.
One thing… we met a darling cat at the store… I even have pictures… names Grover. I could swear to the name. Go Figure.
Thanks so much! Was dying for this post last weekend! Love the collection of framed wall art prints! Guess I’ll just have to go back this weekend! ha :)
Grover Cleveland is the resident house cat at B&B who thinks he’s a dog. Be sure and show him some love when you’re there.
This looks amazing…can’t wait to visit the next time I am home for a visir…
