of art and soul… I could write at and look at art all day, every day. I’m sure many of you could do the same. Looking at art, or the way it’s created lights a fire in me every time. I feel the need to jump up and get a project going. I am lucky enough to share with you today the home of June Mattingly, a contemporary art fanatic who’s heart pounds at the site of great modern art, especially undiscovered, fresh talent. June started a blog over the summer that I highly recommend you visiting. It’s filled with amazing artists and she is currently working on a book all about Texas Contemporary Artists. She has an eye for young talent and her home is an homage to her collection. It’s all about the art the fills the walls that bring this space to life… carefully selected, thoughtfully placed.
It’s a collection and home to envy. Hope you enjoy.

Trenton Doyle Hancock is a bizarre but lovable artist. I recently was introduced to him through our work with Cowboys Stadium where he has an installation and was pleasantly surprised to see him her in June’s home!

Ann Stautberg, gorgeous black and white photography. And we know I’m obsessed with the neon movement going on. This beauty is by Alejandro Diaz.

I’m drooling over this Ted Kincaid.

John Pomara and you can find him at Barry Whistler Gallery.

Jeff Elrod, lots of wonderful energy in this piece.

Al Souza. This is made of thousands of jigsaw puzzles pieces. Dimensional both in subject and in layers…I definitely would put this at the top of the wish list.

Jeff Shore and John Fisher a crazy interactive art installation. Exposed. Definitely visit their site to watch the videos.

Over the bed Mary McCleary, a collage artist. You MUST look at her work…

Rusty Scruby, LOVE his work. Have seen it for several years now and would love to own one. All made up of a photograph, typically to make another image that is distorted. Very engaging.

Wallpaper created especially for June by talented Dallas based artist Pamela Nelson.

Faith Gay…pop-fusion recyclist. Seriously swooning over this one…. (IN HER BATHROOM!! can you imagine!?)

And on the right. Vincent Falsetta, very cool line work and texture.

Aaron Parazette on the left. There is no way to do this justice in a photo but the color and precise line work in this very graphic and typographic art makes me weak at the knees. The pigments of each letter and their outline some how seem to pleasantly vibrate. It’s strange, but in a good way. And on the right is her incredible collection of Vitra miniature chairs, as a woman who loves chairs…ooh la la!

Thank you June!!

Cool digs!
Fantastic collection of art in a great space. Keep us posted on her book!
Happiness is expensive! What a great place! I love her baby chair collection!
