i’m definitely awake now… thank you very much! Sex, drugs and rock&roll - ala Germany circa 1891. Last week we went to see Spring Awakening at the stunning Winspear Opera House and wanted to throw up a quick post to say WOW. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a musical that I really enjoyed and this one was amazing. Engaging story, jarring content, great music, very cool set and costuming…all the art worlds collided here to make it spectacular. A few uncomfortable moments here and there — as someone said to me “I wouldn’t go see it on a first date.” So don’t say I didn’t warn  you.

If you don’t have plans to see this show you probably ought to RUN to the box office…

Look at the hair on these guys!! So great. And the enthusiasm in their gestures. Don’t kid yourself all of them bursting with energy.

set note: I don’t know if you can tell but the guy in the back is sitting on a chair as if he’s floating in air. That was pretty cool…

Pulled this detail of the set… kind of very “of the moment” curiosities like this luminescent butterfly and old paintings. I tried to get access to take a photo but no photos on the set. Darn!
