voila!

what a week… Just in case you didn’t make it to Thursday’s event. Here’s a recap of what turned out to be an amazing evening (or even if you did - it was pretty crowded so a little tough to see). Follow up here from F!D and thank you to Judy for her write up here and Haley for this sweet post here.

Thanks to all who attended and helped! It was a stylish and spectacular evening.

the “sculptured garden”

mail

We found this fun little white mailbox in the depths of the visual department. We painted the flag gold, customized it with the logo and stuffed it full of April issues F!D Luxe.

bird

Happy handsome bird men! As you came in you were greeted by statuesque characters and at the entrance to the “sculptured garden” one of these white masked gentlemen read the latest FD.

Loved this Chanel bike parked by our mailbox.

And thus enter the space… I’ll try to run through it quickly…

the “kitchen”

kitchen

David Hicks Hexagon wall paper (thank you Tracy and Jeny for your help!) and a borrowed kitchen island (thank you Trisha) and we have a faux kitchen stacked full of gorgeous white dishes.

the “dining room”

dining

The table was a mix of gorgeous china. Neiman Marcus is SUCH a ridiculously amazing playground for china. The colors, the patterns, the shapes… so fun. I’ve always said if I could have a china collection it would be from high to low and far and wide. My girlfriends and I gave each other wine glasses for years and we all have beautifully colorful wine glass collections. They look so pretty, everyone knows which glass is theirs and heaven forbid one breaks…no biggie because they are all different. Same principal here. USE your china. That’s what it’s for!! Mix your grandmothers with something cool you found at Salvation Army…much more interesting dinner conversation. AND the delicious letterpress placecards and menus are done by the super talented Jason McDaniel at MissingQPress.

fun side note: I hand painted these chairs… needed something spontaneous feeling to break up all of the glass and crystal. As much as I love it a hand done touch was helpful.

entry

Entry complete with Chanel rain boots and bright umbrella. Hope you can see the patent red Valentino’s by the Coconut chair!

living

These organic glass bowls where a huge hit. We edited to only shades of blue to celebrate the blue movement this spring but tons of beautiful colors.

fish

Have to give special kuddos to Kevin Thomas who works with me at the studio. I put him in charge of whipping up some faux tile for the fireplace and boy did he deliver. Truly gorgeous, handcut brushed gold paper like the invite. Kev, you rock my friend.

the “office + library”

office2

I think this was my favorite part. Pretty intense in furnishings, very lux but oh-so fab. We had to turn the typical display shelves into a “library.” I used wood and books to create substantial texture. It’s a cozy, warm spot surrounded by lovely little moments.

judy

The fabulous and amazing Judy Aldridge, just love her.

All attendees left with a CD mixed especially for them by Tim is the DJ and a bag full of warm mini pop-overs with strawberry butter (a Neiman Marcus signature) I might have grabbed a couple after the show was over!
