on any given day

you can find me doing one of two things… Daydreaming about houses or vacations. Even when I’m not able to move or pack my suitcase I just thoroughly enjoy looking at the opportunities that are out there. It’s my happy place. Sometimes on Sunday afternoons I’ll randomly pop in to open houses. I love to think about the potential. Becky Frey is one of my favorite friends, a sponsor and my long-time realtor. You can bet that if she is listing a home, it rocks — Becky has a knack for landing amazing spaces and her site is an easy go-to for my wishful thinking. The other day she posted a new home that I had to see. If you are a junkie like me then you probably remember the house in Something’s Gotta Give. I have watched that movie repeatedly just for the sake of the house. Well, this home is not in the Hamptons but it feels like it and it very much reminds me of the SGG home. I feel in love with it online and even more so in person. I asked Becky if I could post it. It’s lovely, it’s for sale, oh please let me have a home this awesome one day…  Hope you appreciate it as much as me.

out of the closet

fno

for a night anyway… So I don’t really blog about fashion (mostly out of pure intimidation I think) but the truth is I’m a closet fashion lover. I just don’t study it as closely as I do homes and such so I just try to get out the house with my hair brushed and not looking like a total doofus but secretly I wish I was on the front row of Fashion Week next week. Twitter is all a buzz with people at Fashion Week and it sounds like a blast. I’m putting on my bucket list. Until then I’m super excited about the buzz surrounding the kick off to Fashion Week that is tonight, Fashion’s Night Out. FNO is all over the world so where ever you are check here to find out where to go. I’ll be at NorthPark this evening with some of the FD Luxe crew. Would love to see you there!

Have a great weekend! image via ffffound

floating away

rain

literally… it is seriously pouring here. It’s kind of lovely (as long as you’re inside). I was searching for some sort of rain post today and found this sweet artwork from Golly Bard. I love the line quality, the colors and the use of watercolor. That spun me off in a whole Etsy frenzy of rain inspired happiness. Enjoy.

finally… I’m so happy! It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of my decor projects. This has been a long and crazy week so I’m thrilled to share this project with you as a way to sign off for a long weekend. This is the home of my sweet and super stylish friend, Annie Salem. Annie purchased her townhome this spring and asked me if I would help her pull it together after visiting the Neiman Marcus event. I was beyond excited!! I love Annie and I knew her style. We knew it would be a great fit for both of us. See below for the before and after details. Hope you enjoy!! Have a wonderful holiday weekend friends!!!

labor of love

truly… Tadd Myers is an old friend of mine who just happens to be an amazing photographer. He has been working for the past couple of years on a personal project called American Craftsman. It’s beautiful in every way. I’m so proud of all the people involved in this project. If you are local you may have heard about it, if not, then you will enjoy. Maybe you know a Craftsman? Check it out. (and be sure not to miss the videos… they are really telling)
