it ain’t over until this lady sings… Truly truly truly, this has been so much fun. The emails and entries have been incredible and a blast to read. People just dying to have this or that. I am forever grateful for all of the supporters of the blog that means the readers and the sponsors. Each person means so much to me and every comment, follower, tweet, Facebook just brightens my day to get to share beautiful moments with you.
SO - today is the LAST DAY?!?!! Whew! These 16 days have been a doozy but it was ridiculously awesome wasn’t it?? Well, to top it all off I have been working on a vignette for the past month or so to give away. It has evolved daily as I added this thing or took away that but I think now it is just perfect. There’s quite a bit here so don’t feel like you have to put it all together in this way but I’ve styled it the way I would in my home or for a client so I’ve taken lots of photos so you can recreate it just like this if you want to. Today’s gift is exceptionally awesome for looking forward to next year - a one hour health coaching session from Del Hansard of Daily Health Coach. Lord knows I try to eat better and make good choices but friends know I enjoy life, food, work and more work, stress, wine, you name it. I digress. I also happened upon the hysterical Olivia Newton John video Let’s Get Physical. Just had to post it today for Del!

if you don’t think this is beautiful, i can’t help you… Words can not describe how jaw droppingly gorgeous this piece is. I am a SUCKER for aged wood. Today is a 200-300 year old piece of ocean wood from Java courtesy of Big Mango Trading. The scale of it is about 2.5 feet tall by 2 ft wide by like 8 deep? Tell me you are not drooling and can not just picture this on a lucite base in your home?!?!? This wood is drudged out of the ocean in Southeast Asia from Java and is 200-300 years old. It’s traveled a looooong way to be with you, which I think makes it very special Retail value of this gift is $250!
It is a crying SHAME that I have yet to REALLY feature Big Mango on the blog. I have mentioned it several times and used a huge root from there for Sanka’s outdoor project but never really walked you guys through what is truly one of the most amazing places in the city. I have loved, loved, loved Big Mango for as long as I can remember. I have a huge root coffee table that weighs about six tons that I will never part with from there. I buy tons of the glass slabs from there for myself and for projects. I swoon daily over the petrified wood benches and tables. I have built fountains out of their huge rusted iron bowls. I could live there if they would let me. Big Mango is an importer of deliciousness from places like Indonesia, Bali and Java. It’s a family run of company of kind and creative people who bring something entirely different and unexpected to Dallas. See more of their amazing inventory I snapped last week below.
