french dirt and all, baby! Today’s gift is so cool and rare. I just love old bottles…These are lovely antique bottles and crate from Patina Green’s recent trip to France. They picked up a whole bunch of them and sold through almost all them all but had this one left just for you! These haven’t been washed or anything. Some people love the original patina of the dirt and aging. Retail value of this gift is $48.

Patina Green is a magical place of delicious food and gorgeously curated affordable antiques. I have written about them before here. I adore the owners of this store… they set out to be green and local and follow it through in every aspect. Even their bags are all recycled. Like really recycled. I have left the past two times with a Crew Cuts bag and then a bridal gift bag with a tag that says “recycled bag from Patina Green.” Robert the chef is truly talented. I die every day when I read the menu on Facebook. Today is “Tomato Bisque, Crema and Gouda Grilled Cheese on Hippie Health ; All Natural Smoked Pork, Pico de Gallo, Fresh Mexican Cheese Quesadilla, Home Made Chips, Salsa, and S. TX Oranges; Baby Spinach, Cabbage, Purple Hull Peas, Roasted Corn Salsa, Pickled Onion, Queso Fresco, Crouton, Blue Cheese Dressing; House Cured Turkey Breast, Smoked Cheddar Cheese, Molasses BBQ Onions on Sourdough” Seriously people. Mouth. Watering. Kaci and Luann are the mom and daughter treasure hunters. The store is overflowing with amazing finds and Christmas decor. it’s gettin’ good friends… Yes, today we are gifting one lucky person this gorgeous vintage chair re-envisioned by Gypsy Soul Interiors. Can you just picture this at a lucite or mirrored desk??? Kristen Dowd is the owner of Gypsy Soul and showcases her genius finds at White Elephant Antiques - it’s no doubt one of the best booths. She “gets it”…I always love when I get a call from Kristen and she says ” I can’t decide if I love this or hate it - will you take a look”? She literally scours the earth from estate sales, thrift stores, Craigslist, under rocks, on side walks, everywhere to find great pieces like a heat seeking missile. In addition to hunting vintage pieces (typically Hollywood Glam to Mid Century Modern) Kristen loves redoing furniture. Believe me, the girl knows how to put together a good “before and after.” She had this particular beauty refinished just for the 16 days in a light turquoisy blue and upholstered gorgeous black and white flocked pattern. the bugs and the bees… It’s no secret I love animals, bugs, insects - anything of that nature. Today’s gift is so super cute and even more special to me: a pair of handmade  felted wool critters, bumble bee + lady bug from the oh-so talented Flora and Fauna. Jen Brehm is a friend of mine who was one of the reasons I started my blog. She is one of several of my friends who does something outside of their day job that is just so amazing and fun I thought the world should know about it. Jen is an uber talented illustrator and has an incredible ability to boil animals down to their most simple, adorable, graphic form. About four years ago she began to turn her illustrations into what is now known as Flora and Fauna, all kinds of awesome felted critters made one at a time from a variety of felted wool ranging from octopi to birds. Each one is designed, each piece cut, every stitch sewn and finished by Jen herself. Their cute factor is seriously almost too much. The size is roughly 10 inches in diameter and the retail value of the pair is $90.

a little sex in the city… It’s impossible not to be excited getting up every morning to post the next gift for you guys. Today is a pair of ceramic foo dogs from my favorite stationery and accessories shop in Fort Worth, Byrd and Bleecker. These puppies are 11″ tall. I’m a big book shelf person (as you may know, named “shelf girl” by Judy Aldridge) so I can think of a million places in my house I could use these but they need to go to one of your lucky homes!! See a pic below from Big and Carrie’s fabulous NY apartment where they used these foo dogs on their gorgeous coffee table. We all want to channel our inner Carrie, no? Retail value $78.

Byrd and Bleecker is one of the gems of Fort Worth owned by Libby Petit Johnson who just also happens to have become one of my favorite people. I went to school in Fort Worth and I have a deep love for everything about it but there are places like b&b that just make it too good. Libby brought something to FW that it didn’t have in my opinion which was REALLY fine stationery. She moved back from New York to open her store a few years ago and it has been met with rave reviews. Aside from the paper goods you will find a ton of irresistible candles, killer must-have books and gorgeous home accessories sprinkled throughout the store. She carries Kartell, Jonathan Adler, Linda & Harriett, Jack and Lulu…tons of great designers. The good news is even if you don’t live near FW you can shop online!! b&b is an awesome place to find unique, hip gifts at a range of price points (and ps- you can sort by price when shopping - love that!). See below for my little shopping spree at b&b. ** Little happy sidenote - Libby and Weldon (her new husband) got married in Morocco on NYE (the same day as Bret and I, much more fancy) and their wedding was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings… I found this feature, not MSW but you can see tons of great, beautiful photos.
