just saying hello… I think this image says it all. Have a fabulous weekend!!!

i’ll admit… I’m a big ‘ol typography nerd and I love me some beautiful calligraphy. I saw these in the latest Lonny (which I finally got to soak up the other day). I first crossed Bernard Maisner on a Neimans photoshoot and I haven’t forgotten it. The price point is serious (which is really what caught my attention) but so is the quality. I love this idea of the paperweight as a gift but I think I might have them write my address or first and middle name? Or even a phone number? Just a little twist don’t you think?

i stole that line… from FD. You may or may not have heard but my little home town of Dallas (well, North Texas to be pc) is hosting the upcoming football extravaganza and all involved are counting down the moments. Hotels are filling up, vendors are scrambling (insert my excuse for lack of posting here), city officials and police are preparing for the invasion of thousands and trying to put the perfect finishing touches on all things SB XLV. With that said, the entire January issue of FD Luxe was dedicated to this first ever moment for DFW. I’m thrilled to share with you (a tad late but better than never!) the story on the details of the stadium you most likely haven’t read about. Two of the most incredible women I have ever known, Gene Jones and Charlotte Anderson put their finishing touches, blood, sweat and tears (no seriously) into every bit of the stadium to create what is truly an phenomenal place. I have tremendous respect for their appreciation and attention to design and style. It’s still a football stadium but totally transcends into an entertainment venue unlike any other you have ever been to. I’m a little biased, I know, but check it out here. I’m certain you will be surprised. Read the story so perfectly captured by the oh-so talented, funny and kind Christopher Wynn. A few little notes below from me but YOU MUST read CW’s take on it all and see all of Manny Rodriguez’s gorgeous photos, could anyone capture this more perfectly??? Genius, I tell you.

good gracious… If you follow me on Twitter (that is when I tweet, which is rare lately) then you probably have caught on to the mass chaos that has ensued at the studio for January. We knew Jan 2011 was going to be full tilt overload but we really had no idea what that would really mean. We are fortunate to be helping out with a little event here in a couple of weeks and then several other pretty amazing projects both graphic and interior. So all in all we’re forever grateful for every opportunity and cool project headed our way but whoa mama! Literally just need a few more hours in the day?? Please?
So thanks for your patience on the lack of posts this week and when I need a little break from the mania I always go to ffffound. It never disappoints me, I love it. This image via ffffound perfectly sums up this month for us at the office. Have a great weekend friends!

one of our little sayings… is “next house.” We are always looking and visiting places and seeing things we love and we always refer to putting aspects of them in our “next house.” Right now we live in a really cute little 1950’s house (which I have yet to share but will soon enough) but it’s super small and with four furry friends, even smaller. So I constantly struggle with what the next house will be as my style feels like an ever evolving whirlwind of the “of the moment” spirit - it’s a love/hate thing about myself. I LOVE all things modern but have a sweet spot for anything with history. We draw a lot of inspiration from hotels and I’m putting these two hotels in my style file, both are from The House Hotel collection in Turkey. Very old buildings, gutted and redone but gorgeously maintaining the integrity - check it out.
