can we just talk about the art on etsy

14

etsy is insane… it is flooded with so much you can get frustrated fast but if you really know what you’re looking, for the good stuff is there, and then just kiss your next two hours goodbye! I’m big on original art as much as possible and the other day I decide to just take a quick look  for some abstract art on Etsy and could not believe what I found. For the purposes of this post I focused on all abstract (if I added all of the styles I liked we would be here for days!!) and pulled several to look at. This one above is from the extremely talented Sarah Intemann. Loved all of her work. Enjoy!

dear jane

at this point… you have surely heard of Jane Aldridge and I’m surely biased — but I’m seriously in awe and so inspired by her photography lately. Bret is always pointing it out to me (he’s a huge fan of our sweet friend Jane too). He’s constantly asking me “did she shoot that?!?” and 90% of the time the answer from me is “of course she did and she’s a badass.” Jane shoots the majority of the photos herself (or with the help of the ridiculously talented Judy) and does her color processing herself.  I have known Jane for about a year and a half and in that time her photography skills have become ridiculously amazing. I was checking out Sea of Shoes the other day for the first time in a couple of weeks and found my jaw just dropped on the floor. Get out! Sickly awesome. She continues to evolve her blog, her style and she does it all HERSELF people. All the while inspiring me every time and everyone else who follows Jane to push ourselves to be more creative - so thank you. Rock on sista. Big fan. xo

what a way to celebrate… to be surrounded by lots of love, great friends, fabulous food and gorgeous letterpress. We were lucky enough to celebrate our friend Martha’s birthday at the new super cute studio of Missing Q Press. It was such a fabulous soirée I had to share. Oh yes ma’am. Magical, Martha style. Happy birthday my sweet friend and thank you for letting us share it with you!

one of my new favorite people… I’m so excited to finally announce a new blog I’m super excited not just for the design (via the studio) but I’m anxious for the content. Clinton Smith is a writer, editor, speaker, stylist and all around amazing human. We were fortunate enough to partner with Clint and get to him well through this project. As we all know shelter mags are s-t-r-u-g-g-l-i-n-g to stay afloat but thanks to Clint Atlanta Home and Lifestyle is one of the local lovelies to covet. Clint’s sensitivity to everything I love from typography to design and the kind manner in which he delivers all of it is what makes him brilliant. He is definitely someone to follow if you don’t already. I also saw one of my other favorite people (Ronda Carman, All the Best) featured Smith on Style here. YAY! Congratulations Clint!
