happy friday y’all… It’s the weekend and I’m wishing you loads of sunshine and happiness (although there appears to be rain in the forecast - today the sun is shining). You will love this art by Rachel Castle brought to my attention by my sweet and ever stylish friend Martha…
Enjoy more from Castle below.

you know i adore you… it’s literally impossible not to. I feel as though we should be much closer than our two minute meeting at the HUE book signing in NY (lucky lucky me! - she’s so kind and lovely).
You all may or may not know but Kelly Wearstler was trained as a graphic designer and worked for icon Milton Glaser (think I heart NY poster) – you can see her graphic influence EVERYWHERE in her work. Thus, I feel we are surely kindred spirits and I know I don’t have to tell you - she’s freakin’ amazing.
So with all the genius and bizarre beauty that KW has brought into our lives she now brings fashion too. I heard rumbles of this a couple of months ago but it didn’t sink in until last night when I saw Boutique?! on her newly refreshed homepage of KWID. First, the new blog, now this?? How will I sleep at night? Check out the slideshow on style.com. Very Kelly. Love the patterns and the pocketed skirts. Debuts August 2011 (which PS - seems like forever! Can. Not. Wait.)

obsessed, seriously… I keep trying to talk myself out of it. Don’t get me wrong, I love chevron and herringbone all day, everyday, but I don’t NEED anything Chevron in my house right? I mean, just a touch, somewhere? Well, it seems at every turn I’m trying to throw in a pillow or a rug, a curtain or a wall and thus far none of it has stuck. HOWEVER, I’m got the itch for a DIY this long Easter weekend and I’m thinking of painting TILE of all things. Crazy, I know. (And most likely very temporary!) I’ve been trying to resolve what to do with the tile in front of my fireplace for months now. I’ve picked out a thousand tiles and none seem quite right - although not knowing how this project will go and assuming total failure, I think I’ll end up with herringbone Carrera marble BUT! it’s worth a try. I pulled some inspiration below of things that inspire. Of course it will be tame (it’s my own house, mecca of neutrals).
This project is a wild card, that’s for sure. Stay tuned. images via upworld and chinoiserie chic
