so this morning… Bret emails this to me, subject line “Cool”. I gawk. I swoon. I love. Then I show it to Kevin at the studio…he says “that’s the exhibit I told you about at The Contemporary“. Fast forward to the contact page on Gabriel Dawe’s website and bio — he is a Mexico City native currently residing in Dallas. I love to find AMAZING creativity like this in my own backyard and I’m devasted (yes, devastated) that I missed his installation here. STUNNING, I tell you. I’m a sucker for installations that change and evolve as the viewer experiences them. Too good.

PLEASE enjoy more of Gabriel’s work below.

oh the beautiful places we will go

corkscrew4

isn’t this amazing… Last night I booked a trip to Sedona for my sister-in-law’s wedding (yay!). I’ve been trying to find out more about the whole Phoenix/Scottsdale/Sedona area (if you have any tips I would love them!). This morning my friend Jen told me about Corkscrew Canyon. Blown away by mother nature AGAIN. Must. Go. Here.

Funny - I must have been channeling this place when I found the image for my last post, don’t you think? images via here, here and here

although the heat may say otherwise… Today is officially the first of of summer, Summer Solstice. The Sun reaches it’s highest position in the sky and it’s the longest day of the year (hopefully you’re having a good day!!?) - we should all make the most of it!

Check out these images below from the Huffington Post covering a summer solstice celebration of “18,000 neo-pagans, new agers and curious visitors” at Stonehenge.

let your love flow

butta

today at the studio… we spent the morning listening to country music (confession I not-so-secretly LOVE old country music) and having craft day making these super cute invites. I rarely post graphic design work but this was too cute. This adorable little jar filled with southern goodness - AKA apple butter - is being delivered to the food critics in town to announce the updated decor and super yummy menu for Screen Door, an upscale comfort food restaurant in One Arts Plaza. Thanks for the summer fun Martha!

As a part of The Ultimate Summer, in addition to a meal on the patio of Screen Door, I’m highly suggesting an outdoor movie for ya - feet in the grass, lying on a blanket, under the stars. Katie from Modern Eve did a great round up of the opportunities around town a couple of weeks ago. We are headed to the Nasher tonight for ‘Til Midnight at the Nasher.

Hope you enjoy YOUR weekend!
