all good things must… get even better? Somehow that seems impossible with two dear friends of mine, Jason and John but I’m anxious to see what their next adventure brings them. My super stylish pals are in the process of building a new home but JUST in the knick of time I was able to sneak in and snap a few shots of their chic pad (literally shooting around boxes) before it was all packed up to move it it’s next glam stop. Hope you enjoy this tour (and yes, their home has already sold - in 48 hours!!? by you guessed it — Becky Frey! She rocks. Just sayin’.).

this weekend… I woke up this morning and made a list for the weekend. Yes, a list. I know it’s the weekend but I have all these little things to do return this, paint that, stop by here… (and I have a few fun things scheduled — actually it’s all fun). So I thought I would share a few things on my MUST DO list for the weekend that YOU might enjoy.
Have a great weekend all! image via ffffound

what a beautiful life… It’s always tough to know what or how much to share on the blog but this one is for Scott and Jerilyn. My heart is with you both.
This weekend I received the news that a photographer and friend that I deeply admire, Scott Raffe, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer had suffered several strokes taken a turn for the worse with about two weeks to live.
When I started the blog, Scott was one of the uber talented friends I couldn’t wait to share with the world. Scott is from Tulsa and we always had a caring friendship from the time we met. He and his beautiful wife Jerilyn were married about the same time Bret and I were and I loved seeing their smiling newlywed faces at least once a year at our Dallas Show. Late yesterday, I received the news that sweet Scott had passed. Of course there is tremendous sadness but in the last month of his life, Scott did what we all would like to do - lived every moment. He came to Dallas, saw friends and won several medals at our professional show (he cleaned up!). He went to see one of his favorite bands Wilco at his favorite venue Cain’s Ballroom and he photographed his favorite subject, Circus Flora, for the last time. We should all be so lucky. So this post today is a celebration of Scott’s wonderful life, extraordinary soul and the gorgeous photography that will forever touch so many lives. For more of Scott’s work visit Circus Flora, his website , the original post from September 09 and a few images below.

woohoo it’s the holiday weekend… Today we head out of town to float the river with good friends and to see family with lots of hot sunshine, cold beer, fireworks and good music. In thinking about what to post for the 4th, I’m inspired by Lexi’s “I made you a mixtape” and my new love affair with Pandora that has reignited my extreme adoration for great old country music. I haven’t listened to this much country in years. It reminds me of slowing down and simplifying my world. Thus, I made you a little mix of southern goodness for your weekend. PS - some of these videos are hysterical -70’s & 80’s in all their glory.
JULY 4TH ULTIMATE PLAYLIST
