i’m sure… lots of people are over antlers but not me, I still can always find a place in my heart (or home) for them. Just happened upon these hand painted lovelies and feel my love affair reignited.
Ooh la la. La tee da. Happy Thursday y’all!

today… I spent a couple of hours talking about one of my favorite subjects, HOTELS, and the one that kept coming out of my mouth over and over like a broken record was Hotel San Jose. For lots of you this is not new information but for me on our recent trip to Austin, it was all new (well kinda). After nearly TEN years of trying I was finally able to book and stay at San Jose. I have tried (Lord knows I tried!) and we’ve walked through it but it’s ALWAYS booked — so finally I had success. All I can say is Liz Lambert is a genius and HSJ is perfection. All photos are from another genius Allison V. Smith.
If you EVER get the opportunity, take it and enjoy the simple serenity.

about people with animal heads… that I just love. I FINALLY picked up the new Paper City yesterday (great issue) and lo and behold the amazing Maxine Helfman is up to her bizarre and beautiful shinanigans in The Curious Case of Fall. I blogged about the kiddos here, just adore that woman. Check out the full story here or pick up an issue.

we are off… for the THIRD (and final) wedding of this whirlwind month. Last but certainly not least, this one is in beautiful Sedona, Arizona and we are thrilled to get away. It’s a wee bit crazy at the office (Sorry Kevin! You rock!!) but looking forward to a peaceful moment of celebration and getting out of town to enjoy breathtaking natural beauty. See you next week!

talent just runs through her veins… A few weeks ago I was so incredibly fortunate to get to attend my friend Elizabeth Anaya’s first ever fashion show with the Fashionistas at the beautiful Trinity Audubon Center. I have admired this woman since I met her two years ago and her growth since that time has been incredible to watch. When I heard about this fashion show I knew it could have a really huge impact on her future. I was excited and nervous for her and I’m thrilled to report that I was unbelievably blown away. Literally, jaw on the floor for every look. Truly. I’m not sure Elizabeth slept for months considering she woven and made each piece but WOW it was worth it.
Have to point out before we jump down to the other images: I’m NUTS about the spiky moments throughout the show like the woven apron pictured above. The show was all about texture, which I love above all. Congratulations to Elizabeth and the Fashionistas!! Loved every bit of it!
