we know… Last night the latest issue of Small Magazine was launched. Every time I am amazed at the insane effort and creativity that oozes out of this group of people — all with real jobs — just ya know “throwing this together” in their not-so-spare time between their rockstar jobs and beautiful children. Anyway - JUST in case you haven’t seen it - check out Issue 20 here and then every back issue until your finger can no longer click. You will enjoy - even if you don’t have little bebes.

have you seen… the FD Luxe iPad app???? It’s seriously rockin’. If you have an iPad you MUST check it out. It’s gorgeous. Kudos to Kyle Kearbey and the FD team that worked on the launch. I’m excited to say that my newly refreshed dining room was a part of the November issue. A VIDEO!??! Aaack! Watch the video here - Just in case you don’t have an iPad. (and don’t laugh — embarrassing!)

i love this week because it makes you focus… on what we are thankful for - something we all probably don’t do often enough in the midst of our busy but very fortunate lives. The other day I was reading a short “how to” article in Southwest’s inflight publication, Spirit magazine, about de-stressing your life. Lucky for me, I did three of the four recommended remedies but there was one I had never heard before about sleeping (being a serial insomniac, this was the one that has stuck with me the most). At the end of the day when you lay your head down think of three things you are grateful for. I can’t tell you how sweet it is to end your day like that - for a mere 30 seconds, think of three things…it’s so easy, even on a rough day. Just daily ritual to remind us to always take a minute to be grateful for what we have and be gracious to others…we are all blessed.

scottsdale… I’ve worked with Neimans for years and honestly, sadly, that is about all I knew about Scottsdale — they have a Neiman Marcus. Over the years, there have been lots of good events and PAs there so that’s saying something right? On our way to Sedona we decided to stop first in Scottsdale to check it out. It’s a wonderful city that feels kind of quaint really (in my opinion) with tons of hip retailers and I wish we had taken more time to explore. However, thanks to my well-traveled dear friend Martha - we visited Montelucia and spent most of our time there. It is a happy, happy place. Enjoy… (thanks Martha!)
