today i’m thrilled to share with you… a long overdue home tour – the home of one of my favorite people in the world, my best friend Sarah. Steele is her last name (she married into it, I think it’s very soap opera fabulous, don’t you?). Her interior style is gorgeously polished and classic but layered and collected. She loves art, reclaimed furniture and definitely light heavenly colors I like to think of as Hamptons-esque. She and I love to watch movies like Something’s Gotta Give over and over (thank goodness for Google), not just for Diane and Jack but we LOVE the house. It’s wholly tailored and serenely laid back at the same time. Welcome to the Steele household…

As you can imagine with best friends and people who literally obsess over every detail aka talk for hours with multiple visits over curtains, fabrics, etc. I could tell you almost every detail of this house (except for that cute little dog up there… never noticed that before). BUT I’m going to spare you and just point out a few favs.

dream kitchen

We love a good white kitchen with carrera of course and subway tiles. I think I forgot to mention they built this house so every detail had to be decided on. That is a process I have never seen before and a huge congratulations to them for the final product. Oh and PS – we found those vintage barstools at Round Top in Marburger of all places for $15 each. What?!?!?

Love the gorgeous chair railing detail and we made the chalkboard below from a hollow core door it fit the long wall (not pictured) perfectly.

lovely living

Oh gosh, I could spend days talking about every found object and fabric in here. Our dear friend and designer, Tracy Martin Taylor with Eleven 11 design worked Sarah revamp some found pieces and get all the gorgeous draperies – they are all stunning and so well done. It’s an incredibly comfortable soothing living room and color palette – very Brooke Giannetti of her don’t you think (we adore Brooke).

Bows and Arrows flowers just happened to be at the house that day. TDF.

master with blue perfection

My notes here are the blue wall – She will have to tell us the color because I know you all will ask! It’s a crazy beautiful deep, dusty, gray blue and paired with the india blocked curtains (before it was cool I might add) is killer. And you KNOW I love a good ceiling treatment. The height but comfort and depth the coffered ceiling adds was key to this large bedroom.

Yes we drug that huge ass mirror home from Round Top too… it’s a good one. And more carrera love below.

office/study

Ok, you may not think it but she does go for more color than me – example that cute green leather desk chair. And so proud of her bookshelf styling. Never touched by me, I have to say well done.

too much cuteness in here to even know where to begin. Fabrics, Martha Stewart PomPoms, those kissing brass mama and baby giraffes. Get out. CUTENESS.aslyn_bed

Sure! The table is from ikea and the stools are from Land of Nod. They have both taken a beating and clean up well with a magic eraser.
