coastal living love: part 2 of two

home_outdoor

now this is what I want… I could live with everything about this second part of the project for sure.  I am SUCH a sucker for screen in porches, pools, hammocks and succulent overload (who isn’t?!). I’ll confess - the entire time I was working on this project I kept picturing myself lounging out there with a glass of wine and a nice breeze. This was so much fun to work on. Hope you soak up all the goodness that is part two of two: Sanka’s home — the outdoor living.

coastal living love: part 1 of two

soothing style… I have admired the overhauled look of Restoration Hardware and blogs like Velvet and Linen for a long time. The serene hues and character brought in from the antiques is so lovely. Thus, it was so fun to meet my client and now dear friend, Sanka (yes, like the coffee). Sanka is a beautiful, Greek woman with a passion for decorating and specifically focused (at the moment) that style. For me there is so much joy in decorating houses because each one is entirely different and the personality of that owner. This is the second house completed by the studio, completely different from the first one and entirely different from Judy’s house which you will see next week (yay!). This is part one of two. Once we completed the living/dining area inside she asked us to tackle her outdoor living. Stay tuned. I’m hoping to post later today but it may be first thing in the morning! Busy day!! Hope you enjoy!

birthday bliss

41

let’s celebrate the goodness… Tonight is the one year birthday bash for Dwell with Dignity! Along with three other local designers, our  studio was asked to participate in “1 by 3” to benefit Dwell with Dignity. The chairs will be featured in an ON Magazine editorial photo shoot in the “Home” issue/June 2010  The project was to have three designers recreate an Aidan Gray chair to be auctioned off this evening. The other designers were from two fab local stores that I adore, Haven and William Christopher. See the chairs below and get the details on the event. There’s quite a bit going on…(the chairs are only a small part). Please come to support DWD, see the new office and bring a house warming gift!

light, fluffy, happy

I know it’s kinda crazy… but kinda lovely. Yes? A friend of mine from college is involved with the JLD Spring Fashion Show Rock the Runway and asked me to “rethink” a tote bag as a part of the silent auction. They gave out several totes, very simple, canvas roughly 10 x 12 ish and we could do whatever we wanted. Thought I would share my solution (it was due today…well, last week really!). It’s made of mostly of one of my favorite materials - CHEESECLOTH - (I know, I hear ya…it’s a showpiece people). I really wanted to change the shape of the bag but then still allow the bag itself to be peek out a little. I think it’s light, happy and hip. I could totally see it on the runway with an all white outfit. Final size was about 18 inches wide and 36 inches tall I think… more pics below of my little DIY.

it’s been way too long

let’s get back to the good stuff… relivin’, relovin’, reinventing oldies but goodies. Hope you enjoy these before and afters from Again & Again. Leslie Pritchard is seriously phenomenal. Her eye and knack for finding (or rather SAVING) these gems is a true talent and never ceases to amaze me. From estate sales to thrown out things in the yard this gal is fearless. If you haven’t been to the sister store, Again Design Studio lately you need to!! She recently brought in Roger Harrell to manage a consignment component and the store is literally overflowing with gorgeous pieces. I saw at least ten things I couldn’t live without. I just kept thinking “Where does she find all this stuff???”

Hope you enjoy these rescued gems as much as I do!
