time to kick back and relax. I am so ready for the weekend — happy to take a deep breathe and chill out (and still dreaming of a vacation). This is the vacation home of my amazing editor Tracy and her husband Van in beautiful Wyoming. Just looking at these photos takes my blood pressure down. Everything about this house and the environment transports me to all things peaceful and calming.

when I first read… the email from Judy Aldridge asking for my help, honestly, I couldn’t believe it. I met Judy a year ago through our friend Leslie at Again Design Studio. I was starting a blog, she had a blog and Leslie thought it might be good if we met. I honestly had no idea the magnitude of the Aldridge women at that moment but I got caught up to speed fast. I could go on about this story but let’s just say that in this short time I have watched Judy and Jane travel all over the world and be published in almost every fashion magazine I can think of. Bret photographed both of them a few times as he started venturing into fashion photography. We felt lucky to know them. To say that now is an understatement. Judy, Jane and Carol (youngest daughter) are all amazing and rare people - three of the most grounded, hysterical and rock-your-face-off fashionistas I have ever known. I am forever grateful for their friendships and support. Cheers to you ladies — a huge thank you for letting me be a part of your new home.
I know many of you may have seen some of the photos already but I pulled a few additional details and thought it would be fun to just talk about the evolution and a few moments here and there.
I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!!

how is it possibly Thursday… this week has flown by!! I know it’s a holiday week but seriously… where did this week go? I am sorry for the delay and promise to post more pics of Judy Aldridge’s house tomorrow. We are beyond THRILLED to have it featured in FD Luxe. You can view the whole article HERE (so well written by one of my favorite people Christopher Wynn). The cover of the book reads “When Judy met Sam” - we love. You can get a sneak peek on her blog here.
All gorgeous photos by the ever-talented Manny Rodriguez.

now this is what I want… I could live with everything about this second part of the project for sure. I am SUCH a sucker for screen in porches, pools, hammocks and succulent overload (who isn’t?!). I’ll confess - the entire time I was working on this project I kept picturing myself lounging out there with a glass of wine and a nice breeze. This was so much fun to work on. Hope you soak up all the goodness that is part two of two: Sanka’s home — the outdoor living.

soothing style… I have admired the overhauled look of Restoration Hardware and blogs like Velvet and Linen for a long time. The serene hues and character brought in from the antiques is so lovely. Thus, it was so fun to meet my client and now dear friend, Sanka (yes, like the coffee). Sanka is a beautiful, Greek woman with a passion for decorating and specifically focused (at the moment) that style. For me there is so much joy in decorating houses because each one is entirely different and the personality of that owner. This is the second house completed by the studio, completely different from the first one and entirely different from Judy’s house which you will see next week (yay!). This is part one of two. Once we completed the living/dining area inside she asked us to tackle her outdoor living. Stay tuned. I’m hoping to post later today but it may be first thing in the morning! Busy day!! Hope you enjoy!
