prime time

ok, well, maybe it’s just bravo… It’s my new guilty pleasure and tonight’s the finale. I’m shamefully hooked on Most Eligible Dallas. It just cracks me up. I know it’s appalling to most of Big D but I’m entertained. Even more entertaining are the recaps by Laura Kostelny - beyond hysterical.  The last episode was Matt’s fundraiser and I was surprised to see it was hosted at The Room on Main which is a project we finished up last spring at the studio. This was the first time we have done everything starting with naming, then logo/identity/website (my real job) and the interior for a client. The Room, as we lovingly call it, was a great project and seems to be doing very well. It was fun to see our client Lance on the show last week, he’s a natural.

I’ve been meaning to share this - who knew it would have been a reality tv show that finally got me to post. Check it out…

little mid century lovin’

you know when you pass houses… with the right Neutra numbering on the outside or the “right” fence and you just know, someone cool is in there. Well, meet the super stylish home of Ben and Erin soon-to-be Smithson (newly engaged!). Erin is a designer for Global Views and thus her taste is well, perfectly tainted. Take a look into their midcentury haven designed by architect Cliff May and I’m sure you’ll agree - two very groovy people live here. It could also be the cool yellow door against the gray brick that gave away their coolness.

craigslist, thrift stores, dumpster diving… you name it Kristen’s on it. It’s funny how things that are meant to be find each other or find their way back to each other. I feel this way about furniture and Kristen. She is a friend of mine from college who moved away and moved back to Texas a couple of years ago. We were reconnected and she mentioned she “kinda” liked to do some reselling of furniture. Two years later she has a flourishing business that was at White Elephant but she has moved solely on FACEBOOK (!?? - yes! And it’s going amazing) of her finds and when I say finds I really mean like gold mine. We’re talking Henredon, Kartell, Drexel and just tons of gorgeous and glamourous find. Today I wanted to share with you the very eclectic home that she loves to boast “nothing matches”of Gypsy Soul Interiors. Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!!

all good things must… get even better? Somehow that seems impossible with two dear friends of mine, Jason and John but I’m anxious to see what their next adventure brings them. My super stylish pals are in the process of building a new home but JUST in the knick of time I was able to sneak in and snap a few shots of their chic pad (literally shooting around boxes) before it was all packed up to move it it’s next glam stop. Hope you enjoy this tour (and yes, their home has already sold - in 48 hours!!? by you guessed it — Becky Frey! She rocks. Just sayin’.).
