finally… I have been dying to share Jason McDaniel’s (aka Missing Q Press) new space with you and when I was there last weekend for the sale I finally got to take photos. First of all it’s so stinkin’ cute. I mean, let’s just take a quick look at this wall here. Weird vintage illustration of a head, felted squirrel, cardboard deer mount, Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo Junior Heifer Show ribbon, numbers, pale pink silhouette, all in fun ornate vintage frames. Oh and LOVE the color of that wall. Let’s just say, MQP is my new happy place. Take a tour of the studio below and if you missed the sale. Missing Q Press will be open to the public every Saturday from 11-3pm until Christmas and will be constantly restocking with new merch + great Christmas cards/wrap/tags/etc. 9983 Monroe, Dallas 75220
AND: I know next week is busy with turkey and all but I have something super fun to announce on Thanksgiving so please be sure to check in before your after turkey nap!
Have a great weekend friends!!

i’m a sucker… for home tours (we know this). It is my duty to remind you guys about the good ones. This weekend’s AIA Tour of Homes is definitely on my short list of home tour goodness from an architectural perspective. My absolute favorite is actually next weekend, the Lakewood Home Tour. I always find myself totally inspired after these two in particular so mark your calendars people and bring your notebooks for ideas! Also, add to your list this weekend the City Living Tour benefiting the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League. Dwell with Dignity has designed a space on the tour which is very cool.
Sorry for the lack of additional posts besides Napa this week. It was super busy but I have TONS of great stuff to share with you, events for you to attend and announcements to be made between now and the end of the year so stay tuned and have a fabulous weekend friends!!

beautiful, isn’t it… I love when I walk into a house and am overwhelmed with where to begin — that’s a good sign. I know that I’m going to love the house and typically the person who made it so overwhelmingly gorgeous. A few weeks ago I visited the home of an amazing woman, Angie Cavalier. This girl has been an antique hunter for years, “junkin’” (as we lovingly refer to it) is in her blood and she is an expert at pulling it all together into perfectly styled domestic bliss. One of the coolest things about Angie’s house is that it is NEW. Now, I’m not typically a person who just loves new houses. I love a new modern house but I’m truly a sucker for old houses of any kind really. There’s so much more character. Well, Angie brought the character, southern charm and then some into her newly built home. By bringing in a long list of antiques and vintage pieces — doors, floors, cabinets, hardware, windows and tons of details — she achieved a truly gorgeous well-loved new home. Enjoy!

oh to have a space like this… Our friends Narda Lebo (ultra talented illustrator) and Steve Gibbs (ultra talented graphic designer) have this amazing yard. To call it a” yard” is really unfair…it’s really more of an outdoor oasis/haven/little slice of peaceful heaven. I asked Narda if I could shoot the “yard” and it turned into the yard, the house and the best part (and it’s seriously hard to top the yard) …her studio. I love my space that I work in everyday and feel very fortunate but if I got to work where Narda does, well…let’s just say…it is ridiculously awesome. Peaceful, inspiring, lovely, quiet, perfection. Enjoy.

you can find me doing one of two things… Daydreaming about houses or vacations. Even when I’m not able to move or pack my suitcase I just thoroughly enjoy looking at the opportunities that are out there. It’s my happy place. Sometimes on Sunday afternoons I’ll randomly pop in to open houses. I love to think about the potential. Becky Frey is one of my favorite friends, a sponsor and my long-time realtor. You can bet that if she is listing a home, it rocks — Becky has a knack for landing amazing spaces and her site is an easy go-to for my wishful thinking. The other day she posted a new home that I had to see. If you are a junkie like me then you probably remember the house in Something’s Gotta Give. I have watched that movie repeatedly just for the sake of the house. Well, this home is not in the Hamptons but it feels like it and it very much reminds me of the SGG home. I feel in love with it online and even more so in person. I asked Becky if I could post it. It’s lovely, it’s for sale, oh please let me have a home this awesome one day… Hope you appreciate it as much as me.

finally… I’m so happy! It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of my decor projects. This has been a long and crazy week so I’m thrilled to share this project with you as a way to sign off for a long weekend. This is the home of my sweet and super stylish friend, Annie Salem. Annie purchased her townhome this spring and asked me if I would help her pull it together after visiting the Neiman Marcus event. I was beyond excited!! I love Annie and I knew her style. We knew it would be a great fit for both of us. See below for the before and after details. Hope you enjoy!! Have a wonderful holiday weekend friends!!!

**Also –THIS WEEKEND is the one year celebration of one of my favorite little people stores, Little Bean. If you don’t know about owner Christine Visneau, stay tuned but in the meantime go here and here, oh and here.. More on her very soon… she’s shockingly talented (clearly). In celebration of their birthday, they are having a “pop-up” store sponsored with Simple Lovely highlighting Rikshaw Design (who -ps- also makes fab kurtas for women). Henna tattoo artists, bubbly, cute clothes, all fun. Friday, Sept 3, 6-8pm; 5308 Junius, Dallas**

start the drooling now… In the spirit of schools and libraries and such, I’m SO ridiculously excited to share this home renovation from Dana Hardy and her husband Paul, of Meadowbroke. They are tackling this house one room at a time and I stumbled on to their blog recently to find this!! I’m so jealous I can hardly stand it. Read below to see pics of this super chic, dark, cozy library all done by these two incredibly talented and creative people. The colors (or lack there of) are absolute perfection. It all reminds me a bit of Roman and Williams. Which I love.
