ted who?

many of you… probably know of TED talks or conferences but there are still lots of really creative people who don’t and should. I was one of them a year ago. TED talks give the stage to brilliant minds and leaders in the fields of Technology Entertainment and Design for 18 minutes to talk about anything they want. The talks will typically get you to think differently about subjects you are familiar with and inspire you to revisit something in your own world. Above is a talk I enjoyed by Stefan Sagmeister, a well known graphic designer. As a graphic designer myself I get to hear talks like this all the time but what’s cool about TED is that like-minded people get to open their minds to other subjects they they would typically not get to hear about. For example Juan Enriquez was the first speaker at the TEDxSMU conference last Saturday and he spoke about the evolution of altering and reproducing (cloning) the human body and where that will take us in the future. He has a book called Homo Evolutis, Please meet the Next Human Species. It’s pretty mind boggling. Check out more TED talks here and let your mind get boggled a bit!

make a note… places to be, people to see and stuff to do! First of all, big exciting buzz is TEDxSMU this weekend and The Studio designed all of the collateral for this year (see it here) so we will be there Saturday with 500 other luckies gettin’ our inspiration on. If you are feeling the need to shop and get REALLY good Christmas then head over to the Dallas Flea! (yay!) and the Missing Q Press Holiday Sale. Details on both below. Have a fantastic weekend friends. xo
