i had to throw away… my $200 Chi hair dryer this morning. It hurt a little bit. I love that thing. It’s my second one (first one died due to my own, well, let’s just say you CAN NOT plug into an outlet in Belgium even if it looks like you can - clearly not a seasoned international traveler). I love the Chi and will get another one. In the meantime I’ve been holding on to this post for a while but I still LOVE this place and I thought this was the perfect time to share with you the dry bar. If you’re in Dallas you most likely know about it already and if you’re not, it’s a concept from L.A.. It looks like it’s hitting up Atlanta, DC and NY soon (lucky you). Blowouts ONLY. That’s it. No cuts, no color, just wash and dry. And guess what people, it rocks. See below for photos and details… give yourself a little treat when you can pop in but make an appointment early because it’s BOOKED solid.

isn’t this amazing… Last night I booked a trip to Sedona for my sister-in-law’s wedding (yay!). I’ve been trying to find out more about the whole Phoenix/Scottsdale/Sedona area (if you have any tips I would love them!). This morning my friend Jen told me about Corkscrew Canyon. Blown away by mother nature AGAIN. Must. Go. Here.
Funny - I must have been channeling this place when I found the image for my last post, don’t you think? images via here, here and here

although the heat may say otherwise… Today is officially the first of of summer, Summer Solstice. The Sun reaches it’s highest position in the sky and it’s the longest day of the year (hopefully you’re having a good day!!?) - we should all make the most of it!

Check out these images below from the Huffington Post covering a summer solstice celebration of “18,000 neo-pagans, new agers and curious visitors” at Stonehenge.

i never thought i would say this… but I went camping this weekend with my wonderful family and guess what? We had a BLAST. Glamping it was not, but it was definitely fun. I have visions of beautiful glamping action in my future but I’m sure Bret will shoot it down. (He’s a purist). I see camping in my future people. As long as there are things like water, trails and gorgeous stars (oh and my darling niece)?! I’m good. More examples of lovely glamping (glamour + camping) below. Enjoy.

so little time… Ok, well, maybe just two. The city is all a buzz with the third year of the incredible Dallas Art Fair this weekend. Tons of events at galleries, windows up at Neimans, flags flying at Highland Park Village…it’s exciting. At the same time Brian Gibb of The Public Trust has put together the Suite Art Fair in the suites of The Belmont Hotel. Bret is excited to be part of the We Are 1976 suite and will have a few new pieces (featured above). Tonight is the preview party from 8-11 and tickets through the weekend are $10, all info here. Hope you can make it to both. Details on the Dallas Art Fair are here ($20, includes free admission to the DMA and totally worth it!).
