so beautiful it hurts… By now you may have picked up on my love affair with the new lower Greenville boutique, Bows and Arrows, but what I have kept from you is my FAVORITE thing about this little gem. THE FLOWERS. OH. MY. My latest write up in FD Luxe hit the stands today and it’s a short feature on the gorgeous talents of Alicia Rico. I’m truly head over heals for these beauties. AMAZING, I tell you.

honestly i’m kinda of old fashioned… With the way technology whizzes by constantly changing our everyday, there are only a few moments in life that we all share from generation to generation. I for one, am thankful we still have a few. Weddings are one of those times. It’s still a father giving his only daughter away, the exchange of vows, the buying of a wedding dress. I came across Fab-Life Paper Dolls the other day created and illustrated by fashion designer Berry Crocker while looking for Valentines ideas on Etsy. I wholly support the comeback of paper dolls. Growing up we all played with them and I think this is a sweet, girly vintage-inspired gift for any bride. The paper doll bride has a full wardrobe with several changes of clothes for all of the key events: wedding, wedding night, honeymoon. Oh! and an adorable little puppy!

it can be overwhelming… trying to shop on Etsy but the other day I was on a kick and collected a good group of gifties for Valentine’s. I realize it might be a little late but I think most of these could be good for an anytime gift. Happy shopping!

say it with paper… My friend Dara has this poster (this is just an altered snippit…full poster perfection below) and it has gotten a ton of notoriety since being on the cover of Domino. I think it’s a perfect Valentine’s Day gift and here are a few more I found that are equally fantastic. I love posters in homes. I think adding a little typography keeps a home interesting. I don’t want the entire house filled with posters but a few really great ones, well selected, are crucial.

some people…are the perfect enablers. You know the friend you always know to call when you want them to say “Yes! Of course you NEED that $800 light fixture that has no place in your home. It’s perfect! If you don’t buy it I will” Well, I have a couple of friends like that and one of them is Jamie Laubhan-Oliver. She loves estate sales more than I do and the girl is like a heat-seeking missile for unsual and fabulous finds with impeccable taste. Today is your lucky day.
