it’s so good to see you… I’m embarking on the last day of this crazy week and over breakfast took a deep breath and five minutes to check in on Joslyn (she starts her new job next week, congrats my friend on taking the leap - very proud) and was pointed back in the direction of the brilliant Steve Jobs commencement speech. It’s such a good one.

It reminds me to how lucky I am to get to do what I do, to always dig deep, find another gear (as my dad says) and get back out there. Do something you love.

woo y’all… today was a doozie but luckily a dear friend sent this to me. Which made me laugh. She said these shoes made her think of me. And friends, I do love the bizarre but whoa. As shoes, cray cray but as art pretty incredible.

i’m ready for it… are you? If you haven’t heard already, the first ever Dallas Modern Home tour is this weekend.I’m stoked. A home tour? Unexpected in January when the weather is unusually gorgeous? AND it’s modern? Yes please!

we pass through… Calvert, Texas ever time we visit my brother and I KNOW I’ve seen this place before but for whatever reason I never have stopped. Shame on me. I know better. When I see good graphic design there’s pretty much a SURE BET that something cool is happening there so last time I was driving through I whipped the car around to finally discover crazy couture chocolate in Calvert (a teenincy town between College Station and Waco) AKA Cocoamoda. Photos below (shot with my iphone - please forgive!!), a GREAT video that captures chef Ken Wilkinson’s personality (he’s hysterical) and more beautiful photos I found when writing this up on my pal Rebecca Sherman’s lovely blog Houses Gardens People here.

Loved the address and facade of with the old building where they actually make these delicious chocolates.

And what got me there in the first place.. the graphic design. I think the packaging is simple and gorgeous. Blind embossed logos on all and a delicious color palette.
